About Us Local Health is a network of locally owned and operated primary healthcare services across the Manawatu region, with practices located in Feilding, Palmerston North, and Ashhurst. At our Feilding Health Care site, we provide comprehensive primary health services to our growing community and district. Our purpose-built facility offers patients and whānau access to the care and support they need in a welcoming and comfortable environment. We are a progressive general practice dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care. We are seeking a proactive, well-organised, and enthusiastic Immunisation Coordinator to join our team and take a lead role in managing and delivering our immunisation programmes. The Role The Immunisation Coordinator will plan, organise, and oversee all aspects of the practice’s immunisation schedules, including childhood vaccinations, flu clinics and both national and local vaccination campaigns. This role will involve working across all Local Health practices, with an initial base at Feilding Health Care. The position is part-time, 3–4 days per week and will require travel between our sites as needed. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage all immunisation programmes in line with Te Whatu Ora and public health guidance Ensure timely patient recalls and follow-ups using clinical systems Liaise with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth delivery of immunisation clinics Maintain accurate records and ensure data quality and reporting standards are met Provide information and advice to patients regarding vaccinations Monitor stock levels of vaccines and liaise with suppliers and pharmacies as needed Support audits and performance reviews of immunisation targets Coordinating Covid-19 and Flu vaccination clinics, including rest home visits for our large resident population, as well as walk-in clinics at Feilding Health Care or offsite locations when required. Essential Criteria: Experience working in a healthcare or general practice environment Strong organisational and administrative skills Excellent communication and patient interaction skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Good IT skills, particularly in using clinical systems (e.g. Medtech Evolution, AIR etc) Knowledge of immunisation schedules and public health vaccination programmes Previous experience in a similar rolel Training in cold chain management or willingness to undertake training If we’ve ticked some of your boxes above and you’re interested in joining our team, apply now through Seek , or contact Debbie Turney directly at debbie.turney@localhealth.nz

Our selection process

After we have shortlisted candidates, our selection process will involve an interview, a second interview for some positions, reference checking, Police vetting and an offer of appointment.

THINK Hauora works with a network of 30 General Practice Teams across the Manawatū, Ōtaki, Horowhenua and Tararua districts to service a population of 180,000 people. 

Our district is supported by strong General Practice teams of clinical health professionals. Our small rural-based and boutique practices and larger Integrated Family Health Centres collaborate across informal and collegial business relationships to maintain service delivery across our network and our region also boasts one of the highest concentrations of nurse practitioners per head of population working in secondary and primary care. 
Within the MidCentral district, there is scope to grow responsive primary care services for the needs of our population and communities.
