ICT and Cybersecurity Guidelines

THINK Hauora partnered with regional General Practices (GPs) and Mid-Central Pharmacies Group (MCPG) in the region to gain understanding of the digital work environment, level of cybersecurity awareness and the security setup within the current IT infrastructure.  This activity involved visiting GPs and pharmacies. Subsequently, an IT and cybersecurity survey was developed.

Approximately, 50 healthcare providers responded to the surveys and one of the common themes that appeared from the outcomes of the surveys was that, there are no standardised resources available that provide the right advice and guidance around IT and Cyber Security. As an outcome of the survey, THINK Hauora has developed this (free for all) portal that is tailored for healthcare providers and their staff.

The IT and Cybersecurity Guidelines presented here aligns with MoH, Cert NZ and IT best practice. We cannot stress enough the importance of reading and implementing the systems advice included and socialising the behavioural recommendations with your staff. The THINK Hauora ICT team can further support you in the development of a mature and secure ICT system by running workshops for yourself and your staff.
