THINK Hauora is a medium sized Primary Health Organisations (PHO) within New Zealand. We have up to 120 employees, clinical and non-clinical, striving to improve wellbeing and health outcomes across the MidCentral region. The Here Toitū Programme:
The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) and Primary Health Organisations (PHOs) have partnered to deliver “Here Toitū” – a national programme that supports people living with a health condition or disability move towards employment, or those already in employment who have health issues that are impacting on their ability to work. THINK Hauora is one of four PHOs working in partnership with MSD to deliver the Here Toitū programme in different regions across the country. The team comprises a Programme Manager, Kaimanaaki (Navigators), Dedicated Work & Income Case Manager and an Employment Specialist.
This role is offered on a fixed-term basis, linked to funding that runs through to June 2027.

In this role, you will provide vital support to the Programme Manager and wider team, helping to deliver high-quality services to participants. You’ll engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with varying health needs—your ability to build rapport, demonstrate empathy, and show respect will be essential.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and maintaining general administrative functions
- Assisting with data collection, reporting, and presentation
- Acting as the first point of contact for all whānau enquiries
- Gathering and presenting whānau feedback
- Becoming the go-to expert in our Patient Management System (Indici)
- Creating engaging newsletters for whānau and our GP network
We're looking for someone who values people as much as they do process—an enthusiastic team player who brings others together and keeps things running smoothly.
This fixed-term part-time position (Monday to Friday, 20 hours per week) is based in central Palmerston North. Occasional travel within the MidCentral region may be required, and access to a company vehicle is provided. A full, clean driver’s licence is essential.
About you
A motivated self-starter, you will have demonstrated experience in a similar role. Experience in primary health environment or a keen interest in health and wellbeing will be an advantage.
For success in this role, you will ideally have the following skills and attributes:
- Top notch organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Positive mindset along with enthusiasm and the desire to learn and upskill
- Culturally responsive and inclusive team member
- High level of integrity and the ability to ensure confidentiality of personal information
- Proficiency in using Microsoft365 and managing online calendars/databases
- Knowledge or experience of Zoom, Microsoft Teams and online surveys.
- Flexibility and ability to prioritise your workload
- Coordinating and organising meetings & events, tools, and resources
- Creative mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to build positive relationships with various stakeholders
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to equity in the health and disability sector
- Knowledge of services within our local community is desirable
