Where to go for Care

Your health care team starts with you and your whānau. Your community pharmacist, GP, Nurse Practitioner and other health professionals are experts in different aspects of health.  Together you can all partner for your health and wellbeing and the health and wellbeing of your whānau.

You and your health care team

  1. You and your whānau are the best place to start for your own health care.
  2. Connecting with others is also an important part of staying well for your current and future wellbeing.
  3. Your local pharmacy provides free on-the-spot advice about medicines and health concerns.
  4. General Practice clinics have a whole range of services and care. It is much more than booking to see a doctor or nurse practitioner and there are many people who can help you.
  5. Urgent Care Centres are available for serious health issues when you can’t access your General Practice Team quickly.
  6. If it's an emergency, dial 111 or go directly to your closest Emergency Department.
