THINK Hauora appoints General Manager Māori Health Equity and Cultural Stewardship

THINK Hauora is pleased to announce the appointment of Tīhema Baker as General Manager Māori Health Equity and Cultural Stewardship, a leadership role reflecting the organisation’s ongoing commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and improving equity for Māori.


Tīhema (Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga, Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai, Ngāti Toa Rangatira) brings extensive experience in Māori health, public policy, and Tiriti-based leadership. His work has focused on advancing equitable outcomes, strengthening cultural capability, and building partnerships with mana whenua, hapū and communities across the health sector.



Tīhema officially joined THINK Hauora following his pōwhiri on 28 April 2026. This role represents an important step in strengthening Māori health equity, embedding cultural stewardship across the organisation, and supporting deeper partnership with mana whenua and Māori health providers throughout the rohe.
