Leonie Wellwood

My name is Leonie Wellwood, I’m a Nurse Practitioner working in General Practice. I have lived in Palmerston North from the age of 6 years and completed all my schooling here. 

After leaving school I worked in Banking for 12 years before I changed direction into health. I completed my Bachelor of Nursing in 2006 and qualified as a Nurse Practitioner in 2017. I have worked in the fields of Elderhealth Rehabilitation, Palliative Care and General Practice. 

I have previously been on the Palliative Care Governance Group and am currently a member of the newly established Palms Clinical Governance Leadership Group.

I strive to provide high quality, safe, equitable, patient centred health care in a timely manner, which supports patients and whānau to engage in their own care to provide positive health outcomes.
