Harieta Erasito

Noa’ia and warm Pacific greetings.

My name is Harieta Erasito, and I am from the beautiful islands of Rotuma in Fiji.

My role in the team is to support Pacific pregnant māmās from pregnancy to birth, and babies from birth to 14. The support involves helping women find a midwife if needed and supporting them at appointments to ensure they fully understand all the health information given and that the care provided is culturally appropriate and relevant to them. The role also includes walking alongside women making sure they are not alone and that I have their best interest at heart.

I also support Pacific children referred to the service, especially those with eczema and asthma and those with complex issues. This includes supporting parents and caregivers to access services that the children need in order to achieve the best possible outcome for them.

As a team, we work collaboratively to support our Pasifika families to access the different services that they need and also to remove any barriers that prevent them from achieving their health goals.
