We are a medium sized, busy urban family practice in Palmerston North. We have a strong focus on continuity of care and working closely and collaboratively within the General Practice Team.
We are wanting to employ an experienced Registered Nurse Prescriber in Primary Health who is an expert nurse working at the highest level within the Registered Nurse scope of practice to allow for management of conditions within a known diagnosis, such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma/COPD and gout. This would include comprehensive medicines assessment, prescription of a wide range of medications confidently and a willingness to develop these skills within a specific clinic setting.
In addition to this more specialised role the job will include usual nursing duties as part of the wider nursing team.
The job is for 2-3 days per week. The hours and days are negotiable, with flexibility to cover sick leave and annual leave.
Essential Skills:
- Well presented, friendly and approachable with excellent customer service skills – both in person and on the phone
- The ability to work well under pressure, displaying a calm, professional and reassuring manner towards all our practice population at all times
- Medtech 32 or Evolution experience is an advantage.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- Well organised with excellent time management skills
