Language Assistance Services

 

Language assistance services are provided by THINK Hauora to General Practices, Optometrists and Counsellors when help is needed with language translation, or sign language during consultations.

Translators are available both face-to-face and telephone, depending on need and demand.

Current providers of the service are Interpreting Service Limited who provide face-to-face and/or telephone translators, and Language Line which provide telephone translators only.

Palmerston North is now the third largest refugee settlement site in New Zealand meaning translation services are in demand. THINK Hauora funds this service from its flexible funding pool.
