Tū Ora Compass Health cyber event
Tū Ora Compass Health provides data services for THINK Hauora. Following a website cyber incident in August affected the Tū Ora Compass Health website, data services for THINK Hauora were disconnected. Investigations into the website attack confirmed earlier illegal unauthorised access dating back to 2016.
Tū Ora advises this means data may have been accessed for up to an estimated 1 million people and could include data going back to 2002. The unauthorised access has now been identified as affecting five lower North Island based PHOs including THINK Hauora.
There is no evidence that any patient data was accessed. However, it is possible that some data may have been accessed and people are encouraged to be vigilant to unusual activity online.
Please note that Tū Ora does not hold your GP notes. These are held by your individual General Practice. This means the notes made on consultations with your GP are not at risk of being illegally accessed through this cyber attack.
