Maintaining Independence


The in-home strength and balance program is aimed at people over the age of 65, who are frail and are at great risk of falls.

A Physiotherapist visits in the home, to make an assessment, then prescribe an exercise program of strengthening exercises to help improve balance and mobility and enable people to stay as independent as possible.

It has been clinically proven after the first fragility fracture the patient has a 50% increased chance of sustaining another fragility fracture without risk factors being addressed.

Referrals can be made by general practice teams, other clinicians or by the person/ family concerned.
